The Company
Torch Publishing has grown from a small family affair with
a single, hand-operated press to a significant publisher
employing hundreds of full time and casual employees and
operating state of the art printing presses and computer
systems.
Currently we produce three of our own mastheads - The
Bankstown Canterbury Torch, The Review Pictorial (covering
the Auburn municipality) and The Cooks River Valley Times.
We are also responsible for the printing and production of
many other publications for outside clients.
The
Web Site
And now some information about this web site. We have
deliberately kept it clean and simple, to make it easy to
read and navigate. We are careful with our use of pictures
and graphics in an effort to keep the web site as fast as
possible. It does, however, use cascading style sheets
which can mean that some early browsers will not represent
these pages correctly. You will still see all the content
but it might be a bit messed up. Sorry!
All the pages here have been designed so they are entirely
viewable on a screen with 800x600 resolution.
We have a News section where searches can be made of our
online database of stories. As time goes on this will
expand to hold most stories and news items that appear in
each of our papers.
There is also a special Information for Schools area which
includes information about how the paper is produced. We
hope you appreciate our efforts to value site content over
fancy graphics and slow operation.
